PCB: Mini Interface - Text LCD

This is the first in what, hopefully, will be a series of quick-to-connect prototyping interface boards.

This board is just a quick way to connect text LCDs when prototyping.

It features an on-board contrast potentiometer, a switch/jumper to select where the backlight gets it power from (Vdd, or LED if you want to be able to control the backlight via PWM or just be able to switch it on or off at will) and a switch/jumper to select if RW should be permanently connected to Vss (if you don't want to read data from the display).

It has been designed to allow for both male and female headers on the inputs.

I used the PCB Prototyping Service by ITead Studio to get the boards made.

This board contains two SMD parts, but is still easy to solder.
